A BLUES supporter has produced a new beer to publicise City Fans United’s cause.
Ian Williams, head brewer at WC Brewery in Mickle Trafford, wanted to help raise awareness of CFU and its work to keep football alive in Chester.
Ian, a City fan for 25 years, said: “Chester fans have had a torrid time over the last few years, culminating in the expulsion of the club from the Conference.
“The CFU committee is now working extremely hard to set up a phoenix club to allow football to continue in the city. The aim is to have a vibrant club that is at the heart of the community, so now it’s time for the fans and local businesses to support the CFU in any way we can.
“A new beer was my way of raising funds and awareness of the cause.”
Two casks of the beer, named CFU Phoenix, have been delivered to Chester’s Mill Hotel in Milton Street, with more planned in the next couple of weeks.
Ian added: “Hopefully fans will raise a glass to the passing of the old club, then look forward to getting involved in a new club that the city can be proud of.”
