KELSALL held off the challenge of Railway Athletic to claim the Chester & District League Queensferry Sports Premier Division crown.

They sealed the title with a 2-1 victory at Groves on Saturday.

Railway will have to settle for second despite winning 5-1 at Crossway on Monday and 4-3 at Highfield Athletic (Ross Broadbent 3) on Saturday.

Barry Warren (2), Ash Christie (2) and Jake Harrison shared the strikes in the former match; Lloyd Darlington, Adam Newbolt, Dave Robinson and Paddy Bleakley in the latter.

Highfield (Broadbent, Chris Larson) drew 2-2 at Cross Foxes (Louis Carter, Neil McCarrick) on Monday while Waggon & Horses won 9-2 at Sutton Way Villa courtesy of hotshot Mark Ford (6), Warren Roberts, Sam Henry and a penalty from goalie Carl Hallal.

There were victories on Saturday for Cross Foxes (Jamie McElwaine 3, Matt DeCosta, Jamie Veach 2, Nick Smith), 8-4 at Hoole Rangers (Craig Jones, Mark Roberts, Peter Wheeler, Mike Winstanley), and Chester Nomads 2nds (Joe Inlach 3, Benito Apollonio), 4-1 at home to Crossway (Brad Richards).

Peacock 09 will face Waggon & Reserves Horses in the Cayzer Shield final at the Exacta Stadium.

Peacock (Jamie Hughes 2) edged out Zone Fitness (Ross Pringle) 2-1 and Waggon (Danny Barnes, Lee King-McGee, Ozzy) beat Chester Celtic (John Collins) 3-1 in the last four.

Tarvin 2000 Athletic (Kev Leach 2, Francesco Calapayae) gave themselves a chance of winning Olympic Trophies Division One with a 3-2 home victory over Halfwayhouse Celtic as Ashton, Chester Nomads 3rds and Frodsham Vets all lost and Duddon United drew 2-2 at Neston Nomads.

Crossway Reserves (Matty Dickinson, Sam Evans) fell 14-2 at FC Village in Link Up Division Three.
