MALPAS battled from the brink to book their place in the semi-finals of the Chester & District FA C&C Catering Equipment Senior Cup.

The Cheshire League side scored two late goals to beat Waggon & Horses 3-2.

The Chester & District League visitors twice led through Danny Davies and a driven Matty Hallal 30-yard free kick.

But it was Malpas who emerged triumphant after returning key man Dominic O’Keeffe and man-of-the-match Joe Sumner – with a 25-yard free kick – added to Andy Morris’ opener.

Upton AA won Saturday’s other quarter-final tie 3-1 at home to Blacon Youth Highfield (Alfie Cheers) thanks to Simon Andrews (2) and Todd Reid.
