AS a result of Sunday's 7-0 demolition of Gunners Enterprise, Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port League Premier Division leaders and reigning champions Castrol Tessuti put five points between themselves and nearest rivals Octel AFC.

The title race took on an all too familiar scenario as Steve Morgan (2), Mark Ludgate, John Powell, Peter Boyle, Nick Cushing and Dave Cockram celebrated with the winning goals.

The Woodlands threw down the gauntlet after beating Cane Factory 6-2, highlighted by doubles from Simon Parker and Iain Chapman.

John Farrell's double for Vauxhall wasn't enough as St Saviours endorsed a 3-2 result with replies from Andy Dykes (2) and Mike Sass.

Berwick Rovers took a barrage from Division One leaders Cat Carpet Craft, who showed little mercy and posted a 7-1 win with two-goal hero Martin McVeigh playing the anchor role. Trevor Roberts, Simon Griffiths, Craig Tolley, Danny Lloyd and Mark Ford also scored.

Veteran campaigner Tony Livens is enjoying a new lease of life at The Bull, his four-goal salvo tipping the balance in a 6-5 result over battling CCU, who had brothers Lee and Kevin Roberts among the goals. Tony McGill obliged with the only goal as MSC Eastham Rake beat The Phoenix while Sean Done and Scott Rowley produced the goods as The Sutton Way won 2-1 at LPSC Strawberry.

Identical point and goal differences mean there's nothing between Ellesmere and Princes Rovers at the top of Division two. Gary Williams hit two for Ellesmere in a comfortable 5-1 win at Brown Horse while Graham Davies went one better with a hat-trick as Princes put Holiday Inn to the sword. Chris Doyle (2), Steve Cullen and Steve Foden also made the scoresheet in Sunday's 7-2 victory.

Other brotherly combinations put SCFC on course for a 6-1 verdict over Sutton Rangers. Darren and Lee Evans helped themselves to a goal each with John (2) and Peter Gibbs also joining in the party.
