BUNBURY kept their hopes of avoiding relegation from the Crewe and District League Premier Division alive with a 4-1 drubbing of Bentley.

Goals from Richie Moss (2) Neil Parry and Tom Curshaw has kept them in touch with the other strugglers. Martin Bostock responded for Bentley. Curshaws (Andy Jackson 2, Phil Smith) defeated Malpas 3-1.

Division One leaders Lostock Reserves (Ben Harrison) suffered a 2-1 defeat to Kidsgrove Carpets (Joe Ward, Dayne Napier), while Sandbach Town (Gerrard Bowyer, Danny Reeves) went down 4-2 to Wheatsheaf (Chris Hassall 2, James Hutchin, Jamie Birchall).

Congleton Athletic (Ian Slinger, Edd Pollard) edged Winnington Avenue out 2-1 to earn a semi-final berth in the Crewe FA Junior Shield, where they will meet Sandbach United on May 5.

United (Nathan Mulrooney 3, Chris Jackson 2) have also reached the final of the AJ Cooke Trophy after a 5-2 extra-time win over MMU Cheshire.

In the Premier Division of the Crewe Regional Sunday League, Nantwich Wanderers (Barnes 2, Harding, Lawton, Sterry, Hanson) saw off Wickstead (Hancock, Adams) 6-2.

White Lion (Dyson Leitch, Matthew Parker) earned a 2-0 win over Betley, while a Leroy Jones treble helped Bentley Motors dispatch Faddiley easily winning 6-1.

Nantwich Young Farmers (Richard Ford 3, Andrew Yarwood) snatched a 4-1 win over Wrenbury (Mike Griffiths), while Crewe Corinthians were hammered 4-0 by Willaston White Star (Mark Chandler, Paul Brown 2, Julian Fleet).

Adam Socha scored twice to help The Express back to the top of Division One with a 5-2 win over The Vine (Will Tonks, Danny Taylor).

Railway Hotel (Steve Parker, Kev Clarke, Jason Fiori) made short work of Beeston Hotel 3-1, while JTS Wistaston (Matthew Kirk, Ben Reddock 2) beat Salvador by the same margin.

Cheshire Rangers (O'Neil, Williams) were hammered 10-2 by AC Wickstead (Harris 2, Stockton 2, Gannon 2, Adams, Chesters, Zidek, Jones).

In the Crewe FA Sunday Vase semi final, 10-man AFC Barkode (Craig Pownall, Craig Thompson and Barry Stalgis) qualified for the final with a 3-2 success over Fox Elworth. They face AC Wickstead in the final, at the Cumberland Arena on April 22.

In the President's Cup, Boot & Shoe Villa (Mark Charlesworth 3, Chris Lines 2, Matthew Scanlan) crushed Flying Lady (Paul Rimmer, Steve Nurton) 6-2

In the Cheshire and Border Counties League Division One, Blazer (Adlington, Coyle) earned a 2-2 draw with Mere Inn (Jones, Baddiley). SLB Cars overcame Farmers 4-3.

In Division Two, Haslington Villa enjoyed an 8-1 win over Cumberland, while Malbank went down 3-1 at Oak (Cox 2, Butcher).

Holders Black Bear (Huff, Birkby) are into the semi-finals of the League Cup after a 2-1 win over Potting Shed (Lightowler)

Horseshoe (Palin 3, Brown 2, Prendergast, Dykes) also secured a place in the semi-finals with a 7-2 victory over Brunel. Military Arms made it with a 3-1 success over Crewe Athletic (Hudson).
