ALSAGER Town have appointed former Stoke City midfielder Mark Devlin as first team coach.

The 34-year-old joined the Bullets on Monday to link up with former Port Vale rival and manager Dean Stokes. He will be in the dugout for Saturday's game against Harrogate.

Vice-chair man Graham McGarry said: 'We are pleased to support the management on this decision and I'm sure it will be for the benefit of the team.

'Mark is an experienced player who has featured in League and non-League football and his appointment will help to progress the club.'

Devlin, who spent seven years with the Potters before moving to Exeter City, went on to make well over 200 appearances for Conference outfit Northwich Vics, his last as a substitute in their FA Cup defeat to Sunderland in January 2006.
