MICHAEL Branch has finally left the Blues.

The out-of-favour striker parted company with the club last Friday after the balance of his contract, which had been due to run until next summer, was settled.

Branch - City's highest-earning player - was frozen out of the first-team picture in March after having a bust-up with manager Mark Wright. His last game for the club was the 2-1 defeat at Wrexham on March 26. The former Everton man joined Chester from Bradford City in 2004.
