BLUES owner Stephen Vaughan has defended his son after he came under fire from a section of the Deva Stadium crowd.
Stephen Vaughan junior was jeered by some supporters when he was substituted in the 2-0 home defeat to Lincoln on October 4.
Vaughan senior likened his son’s treatment to that dished out to Ashley Cole by England fans at Wembley earlier this month.
Writing in his column in the programme for Sunday’s Port Vale match, Vaughan said: “Ashley would probably give Stephen a run for his money in a popularity contest.
“Stephen earns a fraction of what Cole earns and still he gets more stick than the fans who mocked Cole.
“Stephen has been taking stick for five years now – and that again reared its head against Lincoln. He did have a poor game but it was one poor game in six performances.”
