MIDDLEWICH rattled up their second seven goal victory of the season - and it could have been more.

They missed four good chances early on, but then Joey Roberts hit a quick hat-trick to send them in at half-time in command.

Dave Shore scored from a free kick shortly after the resumption to discourage any ideas Bollington had of a comeback.

Mike Brandon completed a move which went from one end of the pitch to the other and Andy Whitney completed the rout with a late brace.

Manager Terry Murphy said: 'Two weeks ago we beat them 2-0 and the teams were more or less the same.

'We were good and they were poor. But at the start we missed so many chances I thought it was going to be one of those games. After the fourth goal it could have been 12.'

Barnton 0 Poynton 1: Barnton slipped back into the relegation zone after failing to test the Poynton goalkeeper despite plenty of chances.

Leading scorer Lewis Warren was sidelined with injury and Paul Allen, Mike Gunn, Rob Douglas, Jay Crellin and Will Smith all tried and failed to save the game.

Manager Neil Bithell said: 'We played well in the first half, but just couldn't score.

'We are in a dogfight now. But we have hardly played the teams around us yet.'

Styal 0 Witton Albion Reserves 4 : Witton maintained their nine game un-beaten away record and hammered a team they meet again this weekend in the Cheshire Amateur Cup.

Simon Hughes, Rick Bailey, Leon Williams and Gavin Smith were the scorers as Albion moved into third place.

WITTON ALBION YOUTH also moved into third place - in the Reserves Division - after a 3-1 win over Greenall's PSO Res. But MIDDLEWICH TOWN continued to struggle, losing 4-0 at home to Broadheath Res.

In Division One, LOSTOCK GRALAM crashed 4-1 at Golborne Sports.

Stockport Blues 3 Winsford Ladies 7: Though not at full strength Winsford were still easy winners in the Manchester and Cheshire League First Division.

Sarah Lee scored twice inside the first 17 minutes and Michaela Thompson netted a third on the break after 30 minutes.

Blues replied, but Sharon Tidd restored Winsford's three goal cushion before the break. Lee completed her hat-trick shortly after the restart and an own goal from an excellent Becky Hilditch cross and Tidd's second each brought a response from Stockport.

Blues are at Chester on Sunday.
