IT’S back to league action for Chester City tonight when they entertain Boston United in a Coca-Cola League Two clash at the Deva Stadium.

City have recorded draws in their past two outings, against Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last Wednesday, then a 2-2 draw at Bury in the FA Cup last weekend.

Despite eventually losing to Chesterfield on penalties, City manager Mark Wright has been pleased with the way his side have performed over the past week.

"Chesterfield are in a division higher than us, so that was a creditable showing over there. When you consider that we played for over 20 minutes with 10 men at Bury, we can also take a lot of positives from that performance.

"We just have to eradicate the silly defensive mistakes that have occurred during the past week."

Saturday’s two-goal hero Lee Steele is suspended this evening, after being dismissed at Gigg Lane at the weekend, but Gregg Blundell returns to the squad after serving a one-match ban.

"I thought Lee was extremely unlucky to be dismissed on Saturday, and as he received two bookings in the game, there is no way we can appeal against the sending-off.

"To have Gregg (Blundell) back in contention is a great plus for us. He has been playing extremely well, and his work rate and commitment can never be questioned,"said Wright.

Boston have had an indifferent season and currently lie next to bottom of the division, but the City manager isn’t under-estimating the threat they pose.

"They are a big and direct type of side, so we will have to be strong and be prepared for a tough game.

"Sides managed by Steve Evans will always be competitive, but we have to play to our full potential, and if we do we should be okay."

Chester suffered a couple of minor knocks during the weekend cup tie at Bury, but neither are considered serious.
