VAUXHALL Motors came crashing down to earth on Tuesday when lost their first Blue Square Bet North home game of the season 3-1 to promoted Bradford Park Avenue.

New-look Motors went into the Rivacre Park clash in high spirits after club captain Tom Hannigan struck to earn them a 1-0 win in their opener at Corby Town on Saturday.

But their hopes of making it back-to-back wins were dashed by an impressive Bradford side.

New striker James Ellison reduced the arrears with a fine finish.

Motors, who have signed Leon Clowes on loan from Wrexham, host Altrincham on Saturday and travel to Droylsden on Monday (both 3pm).

Malpas suffered their first defeat of the Cheshire League Division Two season when they went down 3-1 at Congleton Vale on Tuesday.

Andrew Rogers, Dan Haralambous, Peter Aidley and Mathew Dean netted for Vics, who then fell 4-2 at home to leaders Sandbach United on Tuesday.
