VAUXHALL Motors stretched their unbeaten Blue Square Bet North run to six matches on Tuesday after they showed no mercy to basement boys Hinckley United.

Carl Macauley’s buoyant side swept to their biggest win of the season as Obi Anoruo, Louis Barnes, Ashley Stott, Danny Fearnehough, Tom Hannigan and Michael Burns shared the strikes in the 6-0 success. To rub salt into the wounds, Hinckley saw a penalty saved by Zac Jones.

It was Anoruo’s first goal since returning to the club while it was the red-hot Stott’s seventh in his last eight league matches.

Stott bagged a brace in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Worcester City.

But Stott was left to rue a missed penalty as Worcester twice came from behind to earn a point.

Motors, who are 14th, make their way to 12th-placed Solihull Moors on Saturday (3pm) before welcoming Northwich Victoria to Rivacre Park on Tuesday for a Cheshire Senior Cup quarter-final tie (7.45pm).
