VAUXHALL Motors manager Carl Macauley has set his side two targets for the rest of the Blue Square Bet North season.

The Ellesmere Port club’s highest ever finish at step two of the non-league ladder is 11th with 54 points.

Mid-table Vauxhall are just eight points short of that club record going into this weekend’s double header.

“We have got a couple of targets for the rest of the season,” said Macauley.

“Firstly, we want to finish above 11th in the table, which is our best ever finish to a season, and then we want to get more than the 54 points we got then.

“We are on course for that.”

Vauxhall’s trip to high-flying Brackley Town on Saturday was one of nine in the league to fall victim to the wintry weather.

Macauley could take positives from the postponement as it allowed Karl Noon, Chris Noone and a handful of other players carrying injuries more time to recover before Tuesday night’s visit of Corby Town to Rivacre Park.

Motors had to settle for a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Corby, who fell behind in the 52nd minute to a Mike Burns penalty but restored parity – against the run of play – 17 minutes later when the unmarked Gary King headed home from close range.

Vauxhall have two North West derbies over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

They head to Altrincham on Friday before entertaining Droylsden on Monday (both 3pm).

West Cheshire League and Cheshire League matches involving teams from the Chester and district area on Saturday were postponed.

The snow also wiped out the entire Chester & District League and Chester & District Sunday League programmes.

The Chester & District FA Senior Cup semi-finals are scheduled to take place at Chester Nomads FC’s Boughton Hall home tomorrow (Friday).

The most intriguing of the two last-four ties sees Chester & District League Division Three outfit Deva Athletic take on West Cheshire League Division One’s Upton AA (11am).

That clash is followed by a re-run of last season’s final as holders Blacon Youth Club go head-to-to head with Christleton (2.30pm).

Blacon will go into the game on the back of an impressive 1-1 West Cheshire League Division One draw at home to table-topping Cammell Laird Reserves on Tuesday.

Sam Henry was on target for Aden Shannon’s side.
