KEVIN SHEEDY wants his U-18s to sign off their season in style by winning the Liverpool Senior Cup.
The Blues face Bootle in the semi-final of the competition next Thursday, and Sheedy insists the North West Counties Premier Division side will represent a difficult challenge for his team.
“It would be nice to end the season winning something, but we’re not thinking beyond Bootle,” he said. “I went to see them last week and I’m aware they’re a good side.
“They’re in the real world of football and it’s different to academy football. Not all of our players will go on to play at the top level for our first team, so they’ll need to know the real world game.
“At academy level it can be a bit technical and not as physical but this’ll be against hard men.”
If Everton can overcome the challenge of Chris O’Brien’s side, the final is at Tranmere’s Prenton Park in a fortnight.
