ARSENAL’S extortionate ticket prices have rightly earned the Londoners plenty of criticism, but there won’t be a spare seat in the away end when Liverpool walk out at the Emirates later this month.

Manchester City returned around 900 tickets for their trip to North London last weekend as fans staged a boycott in protest at the £62 price tag.

The Gunners are charging Liverpool supporters the same ridiculous figure for the match on Wednesday, January 30, but the Reds’ full allocation of 2,914 stand tickets has already been snapped up.

It’s a sign of Liverpool’s enduring appeal and huge fan base – but it will do little to aid the cause of those hoping that high-profile protests over pricing will finally shame clubs into reducing the cost of tickets.
