LIVERPOOL may not have been able to last the pace at Loftus Road on Wednesday night but there’s no doubting the staying power of Kopite John Bishop.

Anyone who watched the BBC documentary this week about the popular comedian’s gruelling charity challenge for Sport Relief couldn’t fail to be inspired.

‘John Bishop’s Sport Relief Hell’ chronicled his five-day endurance test involving cycling, rowing and running from Paris to London.

After completing the 185-mile cycle ride to Calais, he had just an hour’s sleep before rowing across the Channel.

Bishop then took on three marathons in as many days, defying agonising pain in his legs to finish in Trafalgar Square.

In total by completing the 290-mile triathlon he raised a remarkable £1.6million for a great cause.

Liverpool’s Sport Relief Mile gets underway at 11am tomorrow outside the Echo Arena.
