THE return of Craig Bellamy has been welcomed by those who knew him from his first spell at Anfield.

The fiery Welshman was a popular figure at Liverpool and looks the perfect addition to Kenny Dalglish’s squad.

Bellamy was inundated with offers when it was confirmed he was available on a free transfer from Manchester City, but the boyhood Red only had eyes for one club.

Of course the 32-year-old will start off playing second fiddle to Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, but when Liverpool need inspiration he has the pace and ability to make an impact.

Equally at home on the wing, his versatility will be a big plus for Kenny Dalglish.

David Ngog improved a great deal during his three years at Anfield but the Frenchman is no game-changer.

By selling Ngog and bringing in Bellamy, Liverpool are £4million better off and better equipped for the challenges ahead.
