DURING a live blog I did with the Echo this week, it dawned on me just how much Wembley experience Everton have going into today’s game.

Eight players who featured in the thrilling FA Cup run of 2009 will be part of the matchday squad and the majority are likely to start against Liverpool.

Tim Howard, Phil Neville, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines, Leon Osman, Tim Cahill, Marouane Fellain and Tony Hibbert all played in the semi-final, final or both.

Of course and perhaps fitting given that we all expect this game to be a razor tight affair, is that Liverpool also hold experience at the national stadium.

They have been to the Carling Cup final this season and so know about the pressure of Wembley.

But what I hope tilts the game in Everton’s favour is their tremendous team spirit.

Whilst it promises to be close, the togetherness that Moyes engenders will hopefully tip the balance in the Blues’ favour.
