Who's playing?

Barrow v Chester FC – Vanarama National League

When and where?

Tuesday, October 6 (7.45pm) at Holker Street, Barrow-In-Furness

What has Steve Burr had to say about it?

The Blues boss said: “Barrow are up there and doing well the side they've got and the finances at their disposal.

“I think if you look at them and the likes of Bromley that come up, well backed financially, we know that going to Barrow is always a difficult place to go.

“I'm just delighted we got back to playing with the intensity of how I expect my sides to perform. We now need to take that into the game on Tuesday night.

“We know how difficult it's going to be but I'll put up with anything as long as I see that intensity week in, week out. You have always got to earn the right to win matches.”

Can the Blues make it back-to-back wins tonight?

Any team news?

Luke George will be sidelined once again as he continues his fight to regain match fitness having been missing since pulling a thigh muscle against Forest Green Rovers on September 5.

On-loan striker James Roberts will be missing for the Blues after he was handed compassionate leave following the tragic death of his 16-year-old brother in a car accident on Saturday night in Buckinghamshire.

Winger Craig Mahon, who missed the 3-2 win over Wrexham after pulling up in training with a hamstring injury last week, could be back in the fold in time for the trip to Cumbria.

Tell me about Barrow...

The Bluebirds returned to non-league football's top tier after a two-year absence at the end of last season when they secured the Conference North title.

Backed by wealthy Dallas-based businessman and lifelong Barrow fan Paul Casson, expectations have been heightened this season for the Bluebirds but they have endured a mixed start to the season that sees them lying in 17th place in the National League.

They have, however, a potent weapon up front in the shape of prolific striker Andy Cook. The former Grimsby Town forward netted 23 goals for the Cumbrian side last season in Conference North and has already netted eight times in 14 games so far this term.

What happened the last time the two sides met?

The Bluebirds progressed to round two of the FA Trophy on November 30, 2013, when they capitalised on an abject second-half showing to win 2-1 at Chester.

Gareth Seddon had given the Blues, who were struggling near the foot of the Conference Premier and had already been dumped out of the FA Cup, a third-minute lead but a second-half double from Marcus Carver saw the Bluebirds deservedly progress at the expense of Neil Young's Chester side.

However, the game did mark the debut of John Rooney, signed following his release from Bury.
