CUP fever caught the Sunday league with the second round of the Chester Sunday Cup last weekend.
Bank of America secured their place in round three with a 5-3 defeat of Upton YC. A strike from Simon Hunka and a brace from Pat Walsh weren’t enough for Upton.
FC Lock Vaults smashed their way into the next round with a 5-1 rout of Section B side Bromfield Arms. Justin Rowlands (2), Dave Roberts (2) and John Eymond-Jones scored for the hosts while Steve Kirkness netted a consolation goal for Bromfield.
Section A side Tarvin outgunned league new boys Carlton 5-2 in the only remaining first round match thanks to goals from Shaun Roberts (2), Matt Edwards (2), and Neil Astbury.
Champions Dee Miller maintained their 100% record with a 6-1 victory over Dee Rangers in Concorde Trophies Section A.
Mike Jeffs managed a consolation effort for Rangers while goals from Danny Andrews (2), James Andrews, Will Kelly, Jamie McElwaine and Liam Gough secured victory for Miller.
Saltney Ferry took second spot after a last-gasp goal in a 4-3 away victory at Castrol Social.
In Dale Recycling Solutions Section C, Inter Barrow beat St Theresa’s 6-1 courtesy of a Kieran Tudor hat-trick, a double from Graham Scheuber and an effort from David Burton.
The task was made easier after St Theresa’s had a player dismissed just 10 minutes into the game.
Red Lion scraped a 3-2 victory over basement club Grosvenor Celtic. A brace from club secretary Greg Dudley, and one from Jamie O’Brian was enough for the Frodsham side.
A double from Nathan Armstrong and one from Chris Evans earned Anchor a point in a 3-3 tussle with Tattenhall.
