Next up: Ashton United Venue: Rivacre Park Date: Saturday, November 20: BACK so soon? Ashton must have enjoyed their last visit to Rivacre Park just 11 days ago.

Well no, because Vauxhall dumped them out of the FA Trophy.

It's funny how often teams are drawn together in cup competitions just before or after they've met in the league. And just a fortnight after their previous clash, the Motormen will again be locking horns with Ashton in the Nationwide North this weekend.

With Ashton also exiting the FA Cup at the third qualifying round, they haven't actually played since and will be returning to competitive action where they left off after a 14-day break.

The fixture computer has not been kind to Ashton either and, incredibly, Saturday's encounter will be their seventh consecutive away match.

Being on the road has not been good for Ashton's form either and going back to the last game at their Surrey Street home, a 3-0 FA Cup exit at the hands of UniBond Premier Division Burscough, they have lost six of their last seven matches.

Their run of defeats, which included Tameside derby losses to neighbours Stalybridge and Droylsden, was punctured only by a 0-0 stalemate at Kettering Town on October 30 with their last win coming six weeks ago at home to Harrogate Town (3-2).
