WITH the top two in the Premier Division out of action Brewery Arms missed the chance to go second with a 2-1 home defeat by Chester Nomads Seconds who had second-half goals from Mike Jeffs and Andrew Mitchell.

Bottom club Barrow Athletic collected only their second point of the season, sharing a goalless draw with Kydds Athletic, while Darren Homes (2) and Will Tatler gave Newton Athletic Youth a 3-1 home victory over Cestrian Alex (Adi Gough).

In the second round of the Cayzer Shield Frod-sham United Reserves had a 3-1 win at Chester Nomads Thirds (John Campbell) with goals from Andy Bennett, Nick Pantisides and Gavin Dailey.

Duddon United needed extra-time to beat Christleton A 3-1, Richard Moss (2) and Andy Rogers on target.

Steve McCabe, Rick Bowser, Andy Johnson and Paul Tatler put Kelsall through with a 4-0 home win against Barrow Athletic Seconds, and a Gary Ellams hat-trick gave Team Highfield a 3-1 home win against Bank of Scotland, two of the goals coming in the last five minutes.

The draw for the semi-finals is: Kelsall v Frodsham United Reserves and Duddon United v Team Highfield. Ties to be played on Saturday, April 2.
