BROADHURST, the Mid Cheshire Sunday League's oldest club, are on the lookout for photographs of past teams.

Founded at the former bakery at Rudheath as a Saturday amateur side in 1960, Broadhurst switched to Sundays in the with the Crewe & Border League, joining the MCSL in 1967, a year after it started.

They are planning to make some long-service awards next month and are keen for old boys to loan them pictures of former teams to be displayed at the presentation.

'I don't think any Sunday team goes as far back as we do and we want to recall the old teams through pictures that former players must have,' said secretary Edward Broadhurst.

Four committeemen with 155 years service between them are to be honoured. They are Broadhurst, who joined in 1966; Alan Kennerley, 1961; Tommy Leather and Cyril Leather, both 1972.

Awards are also to be made to the widows of Colin Leather (1972-2003) and Alan Nixon (1972-2005).

Anyone with old pictures of Broadhurst teams can contact Edward Broadhurst at 343, Chester Road, Hartford (01606 74051).
