On-loan striker Danny Hattersley says he does not mind who scores for Chester FC – so long as the team is winning.

The 23-year-old has failed to find the net in the games against Gateshead, Cheltenham and Telford, but he left the field to a standing ovation from the Blues fans at the New Bucks Head on Saturday.

Hattersley's striker partner Ross Hannah netted both goals in a 2-0 win and the Halifax loanee has been impressed with the former Grimsby man's form.

“Ross is a top finisher, and I know if I can get the ball, hold it up, and give it to him, he can get the ball in the back of the net," said Hattersley.

“I can do that too, of course, but the chances aren't coming to me at the minute but I don't mind if Ross is scoring and the team are winning.”

Hannah has scored Chester's last six goals but Hattersley is hoping he can weigh in with some strikes of his own soon.

Speaking to the Blues' official website about his move, he said: "I'm really enjoying myself here. It's really good, the training is professional and the lads are great.

“Last few games I don't think we've had the rub of the green but I think we're playing good football hopefully we can begin to turn it around after this win.”
