WISTASTON Village brushed aside Woodford on their way to another maximum haul on Saturday.

They are enjoying life in Division One and the visitors found out why. Wood-ford posted 115-8 off 44 overs. James Siddorns was on form, returning 4-36 from his 11 overs. He was well-supported by Chris Townsend (2-39) and James Hogben whose 15 overs cost 13 runs. Top scorer for Woodford was B Tonge (37). Seven catches were held, three by keeper Chris Jobbins and two by Greg Barnes.

Wistaston lost their first wicket at 26, but Darren Thomas (60no) and Paul Owen (44) ensured the hosts cruised to 119-2 and a 20 point reward.

Wistaston seconds found their task more difficult at Woodford. The hosts hit 147-7 in the first innings with skipper Adrian Robinson bowling 2-30 and Tom Barlow 2-31. Wistaston were never in the hunt and finished on 82-8. Top scorer was John Scott with 17.

Also in Division One, Bun-bury were held to a draw by Styal. They posted 198-7 with M Ryder (68), G Entwistle (47) and S Lamb (49) performing well. The visitors were 172-5 in reply.

Sandbach beat Chelford by six wickets. Chelford made 129-8 but Sandbach got home with 131-4 wickets, helped by Janath De Silva unbeaten on 58.

Aston's match at Kingsley was abandoned as a draw. Kingsley batted first and made 175-9. Aston reached 103-2 (R Bedson 33).

In Division Three, Audlem were frustrated by the weather for the third time this season. At Saughall they were well on top having restricted the home side to 110-4 from 35 overs, thanks to some tight bowling from D Adlard (4-37).

But after a heavy storm lasting over an hour, captains agreed that the ground was not fit to continue. nIn the North Staffs & District League, Weston's match at Newcastle & Hartshill was abandoned.

Holmes Chapel's home fixture with Lymm OP suffered the same fate in the Meller Braggins Division Two.

Cholmondeley came off second best in a high-scoring clash with Wirral. Posting 214-7, they felt confident.

But a searing display from the visitors took them comfortably past the target, ending on 215-5 after 42 overs.

Cholmondeley seconds drew at Weaverham amid heavy showers. Peter Willis (60) and Ed Torr (46) top scored in Cholmondeley's 218-3.

Danny Morris made an early breakthrough as Weaverham began their reply, but they managed 122-4 for a share of the spoils, Terry Atkinson (3-8).
