NORTHWICH 2nds easily disposed of a weak Mossley side at Moss Farm.

Winning the toss and in need of victory, Northwich captain Jason Hillyer elected to bat with the intention of gaining quick runs. Scott McCormack hit a run for each ball for 35 - Hillyer also 35 - but the innings was dominated by a sixth-wicket 83 in seven overs from teenagers Ashley Sefton and Matt Lightburn.

Sefton was unbeaten on 68 from 44 balls and Lightburn 50 not out from just 23 balls, allowing an early declaration at 244-5.

Mossley were crushed. Steve Riley bowled nine overs to take 3-4 and Jason Hillyer 5-7 to hasten the end at 57.

The 2nds are at Port Sunlight against Parkside in the League Cup final on Sunday.
