WINNINGTON Park Cricket Club switch sports on July 20 when they stage their annual charity golf day at Delamere Forest Golf Club.

Proceeds will be split between Hebden Green Special School and the junior section of the cricket club.

Winnington have reserved both tees from 1pm for 18 teams of four.

The total cost for the day, which includes 18 holes of golf, a presentation dinner and generous prizes, is £180 per team (£45 per player).

'The visitors' green fee at Delamere, one of the best and most sought after courses in the county, is £50 at weekends and £36 weekdays, so the cost for the event is excellent value for money,' said 1st XI skipper Mike Johns.

The format includes a team competition off full handicap, with the best two scores to count on the first six holes played, the best three scores on the middle six and all four players scoring on the final six.

There will be prizes for the best Stableford scores in three separate categories.

Entry to the event is by forms available from Ian Johns 07900 178003 (e-mail mikejohns@winningtonpark.co.uk ).

Park turn to horse racing on May 28.

They stage a race night at the Rec and are looking for sponsors at £25 per race and owners at £3 a horse.

Proceeds are towards junior coaching and a new scorebox.
