SANDBACH and Aston both moved up the Division One table after weekend wins.

A five-wicket victory at Ellesmere Port helped Sandbach into the top four. Andy Williams proved the catalyst for the victory with a devastating 6-17 spell as Port were skittled for 91.

Williams added 34 as Sandbach reached a winning 93-5, while an un-beaten 36 from Janath De Silva proved just what the doctor ordered.

Aston recorded a morale-boosting seven-wicket triumph at Northwich after bowling out their hosts for 139, with Pat Beesley claiming 5-52. Captain Derek Wright steered his side to a winning 142-3 with an unbeaten 64.

Wistaston Village leapfrogged over Bunbury to top Division Two.

Bunbury lost the leadership after tumbling to a 60-runs defeat at Appleton. Appleton rattled up 172-8 and Bunbury's chase fell well short as they were dismissed for 112.

Wistaston took full advantage of their rivals' slip-up with a nine-wicket defeat of Frodsham.

J Hogburn returned remarkable figures of 5-9 as Frodsham were dismissed for 70, and the promotion-chasers had few alarms in knocking off the runs required for victory.

At the other end of the table, Audlem fell agonisingly short at fellow strugglers Kerridge. Kerridge batted first and posted 195-9 wickets with James Siddorns taking 5-56 and Mike Bishton 4-75. Audlem had to settle for a draw on 194-9 with C Shenton (63) and Leath (44) top scoring.
