IN THE Murray Smith Cheshire County League, Nantwich's Premier Division clash with Oxton and Alsager's Division One match with Didsbury were abandoned without play due to bad weather. All were awarded seven points each.

The Dabbers' third team did get a game, however, on Sunday in the Jack Gardner Trophy against Stockport thirds.

A delayed start did restrict the occasion to 35 overs per side, but Nantwich lost little time after losing the toss and being put in to bat. They scored 133-8 with Tim Cowap's 59 including four sixes. Stockport's R Hayward took 2-22.

The visitors managed just 98 in reply, with J Mills scoring 50. Nantwich's Robert West took 4-12 off four overs and

Chris McKeown bowled 4-12 off seven, to hand their side a win by 35 runs. nWeston grabbed another draw in the North Staffs and District League, this time at Meakins. The home side had closed on 225-3 with half-centuries for Ian Reynolds, Ajay Ratra and Matt Cope. But Mike Chesters (45 not out) led his side to safety on 123-5.

In the Meller Braggins League Division Two, Cholmondeley were easily dispatched by Trafford Metrovics. The hosts were all out for 105 and Trafford raced to 106-5 to claim victory. Holmes Chapel's fixture at Wirral was abandoned.
