OAKMERE got off to a thrilling, winning, high-scoring start.
Jim Ackerly was a late call-up and he not only hit the winning runs but scored his maiden half-century.
Paul Hutchinson (3-37) and Andy Beswick (2-39) did best with the ball and the score was kept down during the last 10 overs, when Prestbury added only 38.
Skipper Ian Eaton and Pete Hutchinson built a steady 65 after the openers went cheaply, before the former was caught and the latter trapped lbw in successive balls.
Paul Guilford made a powerful 39, leaving Ackerly (52) to the heroics.
Eaton said: 'The team performed well in all areas'
Second team skipper Steve Percival said the same thing after his team triumphed at home against Old Parkonians 2nds.
Oakmere pushed on at five an over (Peter Jones 36, Jamil Kara 27) and declared at 170-8.
Parkonians were crushed at 105ao (Eddie Gibson 4-26, Craig Phelan 3-33).
