CREWE continued their fine run of form by notching their fifth win in six games with an impressive seven-wicket demolition of promotion-chasers Stafford on Saturday.

The home team had no answer to the wiles of Navdeep Singh who returned superb figures of 8-28 to send them crashing to a miserable 50 all out.

Mike Holt (1-9) and Nick Lange (1-0) gave good support, while wicket-keeper Mark Hurst snapped up three victims.

Singh is in irresistible form and has already taken 60 wickets and scored more than 700 runs in an impressive first season at Newcastle Road.

Crewe were in a hurry to clinch victory as they knocked off the required 51 runs in just 7.1 overs, with Nick Bentley (16 no) leading the way and the game was all over at 4.30pm.

Crewe took 20 points to Stafford's one and now look forward to this Saturday's attractive home game against league leaders Stone.

Haslington professional Andre Percival continued his fine season with bat and ball but it was not enough to earn victory over Sneyd.

Percival top scored with 66 in Haslington's innings of 159-7 declared and then took 4-54 as Sneyd finished on 143-7 to ensure both sides took six points apiece.

Bignall End's professional Shahid Mahmood proved Elworth's undoing with an excellent all-round display.

He took 7-42 as Elworth were bowled out for 118 despite the efforts of captain Dave Palin who scored more than half his side's runs with 62. Mahmood then hit an un-beaten 37 as the home side reached their target with eight wickets to spare.

In Division One, Betley slumped to a 26 runs defeat at Meir Heath after dismissing their hosts for 134 (N Mahmood 6-25). Andy Clarke picked up 7-35 as the men from Marl Pit were dismissed for 108 in reply.
