KINGSLEY took maximum points after Port Sunlight agreed to play their Division One match on Sunday to give the home team time to clear up from Friday's summer ball.

The victory was set up by a solid opening stand between John Elliott (28) and Mark Butcher (44), before Kieron Ollier (40) guided the middle order to a respectable 162-9 on a very wet wicket.

Despite their lowly league position, Port Sunlight tried to take the attack to Kingsley's change bowlers, but two quick wickets from part-time bowler[20ac]Neil Rowlands effectively ended the contest.

It was finished in style by main bowlers Rob Massey (3-24) and Jonny Ollier (4-21) as the visitors were all out for 99.

At BUNBURY, the home side beat Hartford by four wickets. Hartford were bowled for 78 with Robin Williams taking 4-23 and J Thompson taking 4-19. Bun-bury reached 79-6 to remain top of the league.

FRODSHAM drew with Sandbach at home. Put in to bat, the home side put 192-6 on the board with half-centuries from Ben Large (56) and Tom Wilkinson (50).

Sandbach reached 107-9 when their overs ran out, with James Burton taking 4-28.

In Division Two, SAUGHALL proved the old adage that 'catches win matches' still rings true. After dropping nine at Glazebury, they lost heavily!

Saughall lost the toss and were put in to bat on a soft, green track and lost early wickets to a new ball which found a lot of movement.

James Huxley (0) was bowled by a shooter, Martin Huxley picked up two bruises on his way to four runs and when Mike Andrews (5) feathered one behind, the visitors were reeling at 14-3.

They fought back through Andy Thomas (29) and skipper Chris Andrews (81) to secure maximum batting points and post a competitive total of 183-9.

Early wickets were required to halt Glazebury's reply, but when four straightforward catches were put down in the first four overs, it did not look like Saughall's day.

The opening partnership eventually made 140.

Martin Huxley, Mike Andrews, Andy Thomas and Adam Griffiths were the only fielders not to drop a catch for Saughall as Glazebury hit 187-1.

In Division Three CAPENHURST beat visitors KINGSLEY 2nds by 17 runs. Cape were bowled out for 126, N Tilby scoring 34 and Kingsley's S Kitchen claiming 4-36. But in reply, Kingsley were bowled out for 109.
