AS one Oulton Park bowler returns from a prestigious coaching course another is also preparing for expert tuition.

Danny Jones, Oulton's 21-year-old fast bowler, spent 10 days at the Madras Cricket Club under the legendary Aussie paceman Dennis Lillee.

He was one of 15 other fast bowlers dispatched to India by the ECB including Ashes star Simon Jones.

Lillee worked mainly on fine tuning Danny Jones's run-up, but also passed on invaluable insights into fast bowling.

Jones is now concentrating on helping Oulton and Cheshire defend the titles they won last year, while Ben Kettle steps up his challenge for a first-team chance.

His talents are to be sharpened next week by another ex-Aussie Test player, Terry Jenner. Oulton's 18-year-old spin bowler from Winsford has been selected to attend a two-day development programme at the national Cricket Centre, Loughborough.

Meanwhile, the County League are seeking new sponsors for the Fred Graham Twenty-20 Trophy after brewers JW Lees withdrew.

The draw for the first round, to be played by June 12, includes: Malpas or Alsager v Oulton Park, Toft v Middlewich, Widnes v Winnington Park.

Oulton begin their defence of the Lovelane Cheshire Cup in the third round at home to Heaton Mersey or the winners of Brooklands and Barnton.

The first round also includes: Warrington v Davenham, Runcorn v Northwich, Romiley v Winsford, Hale Barns v Middlewich (winners away to Winnington Park).

Cheshire U21s Cup draw includes: Birkenhead St Mary's v Davenham, Middlewich v Marple, Oulton Park - bye.
