OAKMERE’S County League debut was more like a baptism of fire as they tumbled to a heavy defeat on Saturday.

The Division Two newcomers were skittled out for a paltry 47 at Bollington, who cruised to 51-0.

Asked to bat first, Oakmere’s Paul Yearsley (24) dispatched the very first ball to the boundary – but Paul Guilford (17) was the only other visiting player to hit double figures.

Bollington quickly reached their winning target.

At the Flacca, TATTENHALL were three-wicket winners over Burnage.

Gary Forster bagged 6-28 in 18 overs and Andrew Morris (2-36) as Burnage recovered from 30-6 to post 141.

A tricky target turned out to be a tough one as Burnage removed Tattenhall’s top three with only 16 on the board.

John Gibbon (81no) and debutant Max Perry (15) steadied the ship. Andy Morris also gave Gibbon support as Tattenhall climbed to a winning 142-7.

Tattenhall 2nds lost by three wickets in the reverse fixture at Burnage 2nds. Drake and Sandland combined for a 94-run stand before late runs from Brock helped Tattenhall to 185-9 in 50 overs.ŠBurnage replied with 186-7.

Oakmere 2nds lost out to Bollington 2nds. Tom Clutterbuck top scored with 37 as Oakmere were all out for 107.

Bollington eased home in 30 overs.
