LANCASHIRE will play three home games in Cheshire during the 2008 season – including one in Chester.

The main fixture will pit Lancashire’s first team against Bangladesh A in a one-day game at Alderley Edge on Wednesday, July 30.

There are also two three-day second XI championship matches scheduled, one against Durham at Alderley Edge starting on Tuesday, June 17 and a match against Derbyshire at Chester Boughton Hall starting on Tuesday, August 12.

Cheshire County League Division Two side Tattenhall have announced their club officials for 2008 following their AGM.

Most people remain in post with Mel Dobson still chairman and Rob Mulvihill staying on as first team captain.

The only change is Ray Hunt’s appointment as second team captain to replace Mark Sandford.

Tattenhall’s indoor winter nets begin on Thursday, January 31 between 7.45-9.45pm at Tarporley High School.

New players are welcome. For further information, contact Mel Dobson on 07799476108.

For the first time in more than a quarter of a century, there will be no member of the Marshall family playing at Neston next season.

For just over 25 years there has always been at least one member of the family taking to the field at Parkgate in a season.

After former first team batsman and club chairman Jim Marshall packed up his cricket boots several years ago to concentrate on golf, his son Simon took the baton and developed into an outstanding all-rounder joining Lancashire in 2005.

He continued playing at Parkgate as often as his county duties allowed, but was not regularly available last season and the club have now released him.

Neston cricket manager Bob Cooke said: “It was mutually agreed that Simon should move on. We wish him the best of luck both at Old Trafford and wherever else he plans to play.”
