CHESHIRE captain Andy Hall is confident he will be fit for his team's Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash with Wiltshire at Alderley Edge, which starts on Sunday, writes Neil Goulding.

Hall missed Cheshire's trip to Bournemouth through injury as the county registered a winning draw against Dorset.

The Cheshire skipper sustained a rib injury while playing for the ECB Representative XI and has been absent from the county line-up for the last fortnight.

Cheshire chairman Gerry Hardstaff is confident his team can beat Wiltshire in their next game but knows his side must win all their remaining games.

'Hopefully Andy Hall will be fit, so one of the batsmen from the Dorset game will probably drop out,' he said.

'The other important aspect of winning our remaining games is that we need to qualify for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy for next season.

'We have got to finish quite high in the league to do that and we can't afford any more slip-ups.

'The other change will be to bring Steve Ogilby back as a replacement for Ian Spencer from Widnes. Steve could not play against Dorset because he played for Ireland to enhance his chances of a place in their World Cup squad.'

Cheshire: Andy Hall (captain, Bramhall); Graeme Archer (unattached); Dave Pennett, Alexis Twigg (both Harrogate); Simon Renshaw (Kibworth); Robin Fisher, Stephen Ogilby (Chester Boughton Hall); Danny Jones, Chris Jones, Danny Leech, Jason Whittaker (all Oulton Park). 12th man: Mike Bolger (Bramhall).
