HIGHLIGHT of the CD Bramall Truck Cheshire County League season - the Twenty/20 Finals Day - takes place at Chester Boughton Hall tomorrow, starting at noon.
The semi-finals of the Fred Graham Trophy will be played simultaneously on Chester's two grounds at noon with Oxton taking on Mobberley, while Alderley Edge play Hyde. The final follows at 3.45pm. The final of the Plate competition also starts at 3.45pm, between Toft and Urmston.
Surridge Sports are sponsoring finals day to the tune of £1,250, which enables £550 in prize money to go to the successful clubs.
In the ECB Premier Division today, main attention focuses on the battle for the title with only seven points separating champions Oulton Park (at home to Christleton) and their only genuine challengers Hyde (at Alderley Edge).
At the foot of the table, it's looking like relegation for two from Birkenhead Park (at home to Widnes), Bramhall (at Bowdon) and Oxton, who host Nantwich.
First Division leaders by 10 points, Chester Boughton Hall, host Timperley with second-placed Urmston at Bollington.
Winnington Park badly need to beat Alsager at the Rec if they are to extricate themselves from an increasingly desperate situation at the bottom.
Feature of the Second Division programme is the first-ever Wirral derby between mid-table Irby and Upton, whose promotion bid continues to progress. Lee Dixon's team lies second, 10 points behind leaders Bredbury, who go to Middlewich.
Meanwhile, relegation to the Meller Braggins Cheshire League looms for the two bottom teams, Brooklands, at Burnage and Congleton, at home to Sale, who are both becoming detached from their nearest rivals.
The first of the Cheshire Cup semi-finals between holders Oulton Park and Poynton is to be played at Little Budworth tomorrow. The second semi, in which Neston host Hyde, has been put back to Sunday, August 27.
