JAMES Hogben returned incredible bowling figures of 8-21 from 11 overs as Wistaston enjoyed a resounding seven-wicket victory over Kingsley.

He put on a one-man destruction of the visitors at the Brittles on Saturday, leaving Chris Townsend a support role as he took 2-22.

Skipper Paul Owen collected four catches to add to his mounting Division One tally for the season, as Kingsley tumbled to 48 all out. In reply Wistaston posted 49-3 from 15.2 overs, with Keith Thornhill (18) and Gareth Barnes (10 not out).

Also in Division One, Aston were hammered by 195 runs at Stalybridge St Pauls, who batted first and made 258-8. Aston were bowled out for 63.

At Sandbach, visitors Bunbury won by seven wickets. The hosts were bowled out for 163 with Steve Buschenfeld (32) and J Hurley taking 6-36. In reply, Bunbury won with 165-3 with O Williamson unbeaten on 60 and P McBennett (46 not out).

In Division Two, home team Saughall beat Audlem by 31 runs. Saughall were bowled out for 119 with H Ratcliffe taking 6-39. In reply, Audlem were bowled out for 88 with P Leese (44). nWistaston 2nds held on for a draw at Kingsley 2nds, who batted first and made 197-8 (J Allwood 3-44, A Robinson 3-16).

In reply Wistaston slumped to 53-7, but an unbroken partnership of 36 from M Cogger (35 not out) and R Barlow (20 not out) ensured a final total of 130-9 and a draw.

Wistaston Village Cricket Club will hold their annual President's Day on Sunday, at the Brittles, from 11am. Between 11am-3pm a junior cricket tournament for U9s, U11s and U13s girls and boys will take place.

From 4pm, a Twenty/20 match between a President's XI and a Chairman's XI will commence. Refreshments, including a licensed bar and a barbecue, will be available.
