KINGSLEY’S Travis Martin dismissed Bowden Vale’s final batsman with the last ball of the game to register match-winning figures of 7-20.

With both sides in need of a win, Kingsley's batters warmed up a cold day with 174-9.

Skipper Kieron Ollier (21) and Russ Cook (36ret) laid a solid platform for Andrew Ainsworth (52) to marshal the middle order to a challenging total. Bowden’s reply stuttered early on, but from 13-4 they staged a recovery and were in with a chance of victory before Martin’s dramatic return to finish the innings on 129.

Elsewhere in Division Two on Saturday, CHOLMONDELEY tied with visitors Lymm OP.

With Lymm making 163-8dec, Chum needed three runs off their final ball to win – but they made only two and ended up on 163-4.

In Division One, MALPAS had the better of a high scoring draw at Davenham.

Put into bat, Malpas struggled initially before a fourth-wicket partnership between Maneesha and Tony Crabb (52) steadied the innings. Cameron Park then scored an explosive 51no off only 32 balls as Malpas ended on an impressive 201-8.

Malpas reduced Davenham to 26-3 at one stage but some resolute middle-order batting ensured they avoided defeat. They ended on 185-7 (Dave Hunt 2-36).

ALVANLEY slumped to a crushing defeat at the hands of a rampant Stockport team.

Stockport batted first and piled on the runs, declaring on 254-3, Chris Charles nipping in with a couple of late wickets.

In reply, Alvanley were 0-1 for the third week in a row, Dave Shewring edging to the slips. A half-century by Andy Bennion proved in vain as Alvanley finished on 130ao.

OAKMERE lost out at table-topping Hale Barnes, who batted first and set 194-9 (Craig Phelan 4-64). The Oakmere reply was halted at 106 (Steve Percival 43).

In Division Three, CHESTER COUNTY OFFICERS succumbed to defeat at leaders Stretton.

Batting first, Chester found the bowling lively and no-one managed to dominate as the innings lurched to an all out total of 159 (Ian Rule 43, Mike Rowlands 35).

Adam Garrod (50) and Ian Hill (73no) then piled on the runs for Stretton. Mike Pownall took a wicket thanks to a great catch by Mike Clarke in the gully and, with the number three out immediately, a ray of hope shone, with 40 still needed. But that ray was soon extinguished as Stretton reached 160-2.

BUNBURY drew at home to Romiley, ending on 111-8 in reply to 131ao.
