THERE is still time to donate to Tattenhall Cricket Club’s 226-mile charity walk to Lord’s.

More than 40 members will set off from the club’s Flacca ground on Saturday week with the aim of arriving at the home of cricket seven days later in a bid to raise £10,000.

Walkers will give 25% of what they raise to Macmillan Cancer Support nurses with the rest going to the improvement of the Cheshire County League outfit’s facilities.

Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/Walk2Lords

It is the second time the club has staged a walk to Lord’s. But unlike 25 years ago, when walkers continued through the night on their journey to the capital, the walk will be restricted to daytime hours and will take a week to complete instead of three days.

Anthony Rouse, Grant Howard, Josh Spraggs, Richard Sadler and Callum Booth will be walking the entire distance.
