Wicket-keeper James Martin claimed a superb diving catch off the bowling of Mandeep Singh (1-28) and there were also wickets for skipper Chris Andrews (2-21) and Mike Andrews (4-17) as HMV were dismissed for 115.
In Division One, FRODSHAM lost at home by two wickets to Haslington. The hosts scored 184-7 (Gavin Houghton 67no) and Haslington got home by making 186-8.
It was a memorable day for Saughall as they fielded a second XI for the first time in the club’s history.
Their Division Five match against Frodsham 3rds proved to be a thrilling contest. Saughall made 132 (Ian Peters 38) and a flurry of late wickets saw Frodsham held up on 127-7.
