KINGSLEY dodged the showers to complete victory away to local rivals Barnton in Division Two of the Meller Braggins League.

After winning the toss, Kingsley danger man Travis Martin took the top off Barnton’s batting order.

The hosts staged a recovery before first a run out and then the slow left arm of Adrian Burden (6-13), supported by some excellent catching, dismissed them for 75 with 10 overs left to bat.

With rain threatening, high-flying Kingsley were keen to finish the game quickly.

Ben Pearce stepped up to the plate, scoring a run-a-ball 39no as Kingsley finished on 80-2.

Elsewhere in Division Two, BUNBURY (178-7dec) fell to a home loss to Mere (180-4).

In Division Three, BARROW (95-7) claimed a draw at CH Ladybridge (151-6dec).

The week’s wet weather led to the cancellation of several Cheshire Alliance fixtures, including Frodsham v Saughall.

Cheshire drew with Wales MC in the Minor Counties Championship at Usk CC.
