CHRISTLETON CC will hold an open evening next Wednesday (January 30), when new players and members will be welcome to attend.

The club fields three teams in the County League and also runs an under 18s side. It has a strong junior section too, catering from players aged from U9s level to U15s.

The open evening begins at 7pm at the club’s Little Heath ground. Anyone wishing to play for Christleton or become a member can go along to learn more about the club.

There was a packed agenda for clubs in the County League to deal with at their annual meeting, staged at Bowdon Cricket Club last night after The Chronicle had gone to press.

The main item for discussion was a planned revamp of the RedInsure T20 Knockout competition which will involve scrapping the Plate, a consolation tournament.

Chairman David Humpage was planning to renew the league’s appeal for a new main sponsor to replace Stockport-based printers Chapel Press, who have withdrawn after four years.

Chester County Officers start their indoor winter nets on Sunday (January 27).

They will take place at The Kings School, Wrexham Road, Chester, between 4pm and 6pm for eight weeks. New players are welcome.

County Officers play in Division One of the Cheshire Cricket League after promotion last year.
