NEW recruit Toby Mullins struck an unbeaten 63 as Kingsley won a close TACS Partnership Cheshire League encounter at home to Lymm OP.

Peter Pearce won a crucial toss and, after inserting Lymm, bowled unchanged to help restrict their total to 144-8. He had James Feint to thank for two of his wickets (5-50) as the youngster pouched two high-speed drives. Kingsley’s reply got off to a circumspect start, until Ben Stoddart (32) was joined by Mullins.

In the penultimate over the draw was the likely result, until Mullins hit the last two balls for a four and a six. Returning keeper Ed Leneghan then pulled the third ball of the last over for four to complete victory as Kingsley finished on 147-4.

Elsewhere in Division Two, BUNBURY drew at home to Aston. The hosts batted first and made 179-6, before Aston answered with 141-8.

Trevor Fabian hit 71 for CHOLMONDELEY in their home victory over Woodford, who batted first and made 167-8. Chum hit back with 169-8.

In Division Three, BARROW won at Sandbach. T Batangala led the way with 55 as they made 166-8. The hosts were then skittled for 106 (Malcolm Barrow 5-30).

An injury-hit and youthful Kingsley 2nd XI lost at Mobberley. They gained a solitary bowling point from a match in which they were outplayed.
