CHRISTLETON ended a poor run of Division One form with a confident win against Heaton Mersey.
Having won the toss, Heaton chose to bat, posting a decent 175-5, with Iroshan De Silva the pick of the bowlers (3-61), Guy Newall and Paul Allen taking two apiece.
The home side looked to be strolling to the target, with Iftikhar Naseer and Guy Newell putting on 68 for the first wicket.
They then fell from 77-1 to 99-4 as Heaton Mersey ripped through their middle order.
Having shone with the ball De Silva posted a classy 71no from 93 balls, guaranteeing his struggling side a vital haul of 25 points.
In Division Two, mid-table TATTENHALL followed up on their impressive win against Warrington last week with another good win against Bredbury.
Batting first on a green wicket, Paul Kettle top scored with a decent knock of 42, while they also received decent lower order contributions from Barry Mitchell (27) and Andrew Morris (26no).
Restricting Bredbury, who were chasing 187, was always going to be a challenge for Tattenhall, and Peter Zybrands set up a nail-biting finish by knocking a century while the rest of the order wilted under pressure from Craig Williamson.
Twenty-two runs from defeat, Williamson eventually removed Zybrands to finish with figures of 7-69 in 20.5 overs.
