Chester Boughton Hall were knocked from the summit of the Vivio County League by a 100-run reverse at Hyde.

They are now 14 points behind new leaders Neston following their third defeat of the ECB Premier campaign.

After winning the toss and bowling first, Chester kept Hyde to 260-7 off their 55 overs. Cheshire captain James Duffy (73) was well-supported by Chris Tipper (50) and Tom Twiney (35). It was tough in the heat but pick of the bowlers were Alex Kegg (2-63) and Jack Williams (2-68).

Chester struggled in return, losing wickets at regular intervals. It was not until fifth man Jordan Clark (31) entered the fray that they got a substantial contribution.

But although Ross Dixon added 37, which included seven fours, the visitors were always struggling and were finally dismissed for a poor 160ao. Neston’s seven-wicket win at Oxton earned them a return to the top.

In Division One, CHRISTLETON enjoyed a winning draw at Bredbury St Marks.

They amassed 272-8 (Iroshan De Silva 69, Ifti Naseer 66).

Bredbury got close at a spirited 270-5 (Peter Zybrands 85 no).

OULTON PARK had the best of a draw at Middlewich.

Ric Moore lashed 10 fours and two sixes in his stunning 105 and Louis Bentley plundered 16 boundaries in his 114 as the side posted 274-4.

The hosts fell short in reply, reaching 238-9 off their allotted overs.

Kieran Berrington (5-67) was the pick of the bowlers, picking up his maiden five-fer in the first team with support from Moore (3-52).

Jamie Williams (45), Stephen Parry (38) and Stuart Price (30) were the only Middlewich batsmen to made inroads into the Park attack.

In Division Two, TATTENHALL won by eight wickets at rock-bottom Bollington. They showed the struggling hosts no mercy as they bowled first and restricted them to 148ao.

Travis Salisbury (45) did most damage for the hosts while Dan Power (4-28) was a thorn in their side. Tatters replied with a convincing 150-2 (Stuart Sadler 57, Power 42no).

Struggling Stockport Georgians and ALVANLEY played out a draw. Georgians mustered only 132 (Dave Shewring 4-29) but Alvankey could only come up with 119-8.
