THERE have been plenty of changes at Barrow during the close-season – both on and off the pitch.
Work on a £10,000 refurbishment of the outdoor nets facility at the Croft has recently been completed, while more than 40 club members helped give the clubhouse a new coat of paint.
Barrow, whose first team play in Division Two of the Meller Braggins League, will run three weekend sides this season, as well as a team in the Chester Midweek League.
There has been a big influx of fresh blood, while club officials expect starlets Tom Allen, Nick Mumford and Greg Russell to build on last year’s impressive performances.
Barrow, who finished just one position above the relegation places last season, have appointed Dave Ellwood as their new skipper.
KINGSLEY, who were one place above Barrow in 2010, have had their Mill Lane home selected as the venue for the league’s 2011 Knockout Finals Day.
Both 1st XI and 2nd XI finals are played on the same day – September 4.
CHOLMONDELEY hope to go one place better this year. They agonisingly missed out on promotion last season, finishing third and just five points off the pace.
