WISTASTON Village got back into their stride to keep the pressure up at the top of Division One on Saturday.

Despite a fortnight without action, the Villagers showed no signs of rustiness and they took Norbury to task at the Brittles.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, but mustered only a meagre 111 all out against excellent Wistaston bowling. Chris Townsend returned 3-24 from 12 overs while another excellent spell from James Hogben (5-13) from 12.2 overs gave Norbury problems from the outset.

Keith Thornhill (2-23) provided good support, as Norbury's top scorers were P Hodge (25) and P Holland (20).

Wistaston easily knocked off the required 112 for victory. Steve Collins (30), Chris Jobbins (26) and Peter Aspinall (30 not out) saw them home with 114-3 from just 20.5 overs.

Also in Division One, Bun-bury enjoyed a five-wicket win at Aston. The hosts made first use but were knocked over for 139 with C Beesley (34) top scoring, as 'Bomber' Bob Harris took 5-55.

The visitors won the game with 140-5. P McBennett (55) and P Matthews (35) were both un-beaten as the winning runs were scored.

Sandbach fought out a draw at Woodford, after setting a target of 246-7 with J Hutchin (74), A Copnall (46) and C Tomlinson (35).

In reply, Woodford reached 232-7 with G Colebourn (73), B Tonge (41) and D Freeman (46).

In Division Two, Audlem had to share the spoils at Eastham. The visitors batted first and posted 221-3 with D Parry not out on

70. In reply Eastham reached 89-4 wickets with S Richards (53). nWistaston 2nds enjoyed a comprehensive victory at Nor-bury. Batting first, Norbury were shot out for just 42 runs as excellent bowling from Julian Cotton (4-30) and Richard Barlow (5-11) took them apart. Andrew Jones (31 not out) helped to ensure a six-wicket victory.
