OULTON Park batsman Andy Robinson missed out on the top individual prize at the Murray Smith Cheshire County League's presentation dinner, held at Mere Golf and Country Club.

The Aussie, who hit 990 runs for the champions this summer, was second to Widnes's Indian off-spinner Bapa Mukherjee in the Premier Division player of the year poll.

Before presenting the Premier Division championship trophy to skipper Stuart Eaton, league chairman David Humpage praised Oulton Park.

He commended them for 'raising the bar' to new heights with their many excellent players and challenged other clubs to match them in 2006.

The Division One player of the year was Bangalore-based batsman Ashwin Punja who scored 1,044 runs for Alsager.

All-rounder Kevin Waterhouse, who helped Bollington win promotion with 803 runs and 55 wickets, won the Division Two poll.

Urmston won the most improved club award, while the league umpires named Toft as most sporting club.
