Neil Young

Treble title-winning Chester FC boss Neil Young has been talking about life away from football after he was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame.

The former Blues boss said: "Football management I definitely won't be doing at this moment in time.

"It's very difficult. The time I had at Chester will be very hard to replicate and the industry is also changing."

He also had his say on Jon McCarthy. Have a read below.

Young Blues

Chester FC under-18s head coach Calum McIntyre has been busy preparing his side for tomorrow night's FA Youth Cup with Fleetwood Town.

McIntyre said: "The FA Youth Cup is always the highlight of the under-18s season and the lads are all buzzing.

"We know we are the underdogs and it is a great chance for us to test ourselves against Football League opposition. But I know how good my players are, I see them all the time.

"We'll be ready to play our game and we want to make that second round."

Junior Blues Takeover Day saw the club give youngsters a chance to experience a range of match day roles at Chester FC.

The takeover coincided with a joint initiative between the club and the Community Trust, whereby local football teams are encouraged to come and support the blues.

Torquay takeover

Elsewhere in the National League, Torquay United's fans chances of owning their club have been dealt a blow.

Today the Gulls released a statement saying the supporters' trust would not be allowed a two-month exclusivity to negotiate a deal.

BBC Sport reported yesterday that two consortiums, not including the TUST, had lodged firm takeover offers.

Torquay sit 18th and have not won in four games, a run which includes their 1-0 defeat against Chester on October 8.
